Explorer’s Guide Online (EGO) has advanced to the final round of the Hofstra’s Veterans Venture Challenge! From a starting pool of 100+ of veteran-owned startups to a semi-final round of 19, EGO now joins 9 other veteran startups in the final round. We will compete for $100k in seed capital as well as present our mission and company goal to investors.
During this challenge, we’ve received mentorship from accomplished entrepreneurs and CEOs as well as learned from the other great veteran founders. We’ve thoroughly enjoyed engaging with the veteran entrepreneur community and look forward to remaining involved with this great community.
What Does This Mean for Our Students?
EGO’s mission is “to train mariners to operate safely.” Throughout this challenge, the mentorship and business training we’ve received has been invaluable and will only improve our course offerings – enabling us to best “train mariners to operate safely.” As we continue to transform maritime licensing and training, we couldn’t be more excited to take the lessons we’ve learned and help mariners accomplish their licensing and career goals, regardless of whether these goals are commercial or recreational.
Note to Veteran Owned Startups
